The Executive Director of the Central American Commission for Maritime Transport (COCATRAM), Otto Noack, accompanied by consultants from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Paula Grillo and Carolina Riesco, visited the offices of the Central American Integration System (SICA) in El Salvador.
During their stay, they had a fruitful dialogue with the Executive Director of SICA, Ingrid Figueroa, focusing on strategic issues related to the strengthening of maritime and port transport in the region.
At the meeting, Ingrid Figueroa highlighted the importance of international cooperation and presented the significant progress made by SICA in its mission to promote regional integration and development. She also presented the strategic vision of the organization, highlighting the opportunities offered by initiatives such as the Central American Regional Maritime Port Strategy, which aims to consolidate the competitiveness of the countries of the region in the maritime sector.
She also highlighted the joint work of the region’s institutions and the potential of regional projects to promote the modernization and efficiency of the port sector.
This meeting strengthens the ties of technical cooperation and promotes concrete actions aimed at the sustainable development of maritime transport in Central America.
