As part of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) PRO SEAS Project, COCATRAM convened the Focal Points of the Maritime Authorities to discuss, together with consultant Jorge Cabrera, the scope and methodology of the “Regional Policy Analysis Consultancy,” to be carried out this year.
The consultancy aims to identify the regulatory framework and existing policies in participating countries regarding marine plastic waste associated with shipping and fishing, in order to identify opportunities for harmonization and promote joint actions at the regional level. COCATRAM provides support for the maritime component, contributing to this process of regional analysis and coordination.
