The International Maritime Organization (IMO) unveiled its revamped visual identity and updated logo during the Organization’s 34th Assembly, held from November 24 to December 3.

Secretary-General Arsenio Domínguez made the announcement, emphasizing that the update reflects the IMO’s commitment to safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable maritime transport.

The new logo modernizes the original emblem, which has been used for over 77 years, by retaining the world map, olive branches, and anchors, while placing a greater emphasis on the central role of the ocean in global affairs. It also features contemporary typography and a refreshed color palette, with a deeper blue to enhance clarity, institutional recognition, and visual accessibility.

The updated logo is available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
