As part of the IV Meeting of the Network of Maritime and Port Women of Central America (REMPORT), technical visits were made to the port of Cortes, beginning with a day at the facilities of Grupo AVANZA. During this visit, the company’s operating model was presented, highlighting the active role of women in administrative and operational functions. Afterwards, the participants toured the dock, showing the infrastructure and processes that support the logistical dynamism of the most important port in Honduras.
The day concluded with a visit to the Central American Maritime School (EMCA), located in Omoa, where the “Full Mission” Bridge Simulator was officially inaugurated. This technological advance, launched by the Director General of the Merchant Marine, Dr. Edgar Soriano, represents a milestone in regional maritime training, as it is a relevant tool for the professionalization of Honduran and Central American seafarers, allowing training in realistic navigation scenarios that strengthen safety and operational efficiency at sea.
