As part of the activities commemorating Central American Integration Day, the Central American Maritime Transport Commission (COCATRAM) held a breakfast gathering in its meeting room, reaffirming its commitment to the ideals of unity, cooperation, and regional development.
The event was attended by Carlos Salgado, Head of the Latin America and Caribbean Section of the Technical Cooperation Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as well as IMO consultants Roberto Tomás Annichini (Argentina) and Mauricio Riquelme (Chile). On behalf of COCATRAM, members of the Executive Directorate and officials from different institutional areas were present.

During the meeting, reflections were shared on the importance of strengthening ties between the countries of the region, and the key role of maritime transport in promoting the economic and social integration of Central America was highlighted.
Central American Integration Day commemorates the signing of the Charter of San Salvador on October 14, 1951, by Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, which was the founding act of the Organization of Central American States (ODECA). This charter represented a firm commitment by the member states to build a region of peace, development, freedom, and democracy through mechanisms of regional cooperation and integration. 🇸🇻🇬🇹🇭🇳🇳🇮🇨🇷🇵🇦🇧🇿🇩🇴
