A crucial milestone has been reached on the road to global regulation of safety standards for the world’s large industrial fishing vessels and those working on board. Nicaragua is the 22nd State to become a party to the Agreement, thus fulfilling one of the two criteria required for the entry into vigor of the 2012 Cape Town Agreement.
Mr. Luis Erick Rodriguez Lanuza deposited the instrument of accession of the Republic of Nicaragua with IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim. IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim welcomed Nicaragua’s deposit. More information.
