The 5th Meeting of the Central American Network of Maritime and Port Women (REMPORT) was held, bringing together prominent leaders and experts from the maritime and port sector to share experiences, knowledge, and strategies that promote regional strengthening and integration in Central America.

This year’s event will address strategic issues aimed at strengthening the maritime and port sector and promoting women’s leadership in the region, highlighting progress and initiatives that benefit women in Nicaragua, as well as the presentation of the Maritime and Port Statistical Information System (SIEMPCA) and the Virtual Training Classroom.

At the start of the meeting, the participants received a message from Mr. Carlos Salgado, Head of the Latin America and Caribbean Section of the Maritime Development Division of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in observance of International Women’s Day in the Maritime Sector on May 18, 2026.

In addition, there will be a presentation titled “From Visibility to Positioning: Digital Branding Strategies for the Maritime and Port Sector,” a coaching session to assess REMPORT’s needs, and a review of internal matters and the network’s bylaws.
