The Central American Maritime Transport Commission (COCATRAM) held its CXXI Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Directors on June 20, 2025, in the Comasagua 1 room of the Holiday Inn Hotel, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Delegates and alternate delegates from the member countries attended the meeting, which began with the formal opening of the session, approval of the agenda, and reading of the corresponding accreditations, including those of the Costa Rican delegation.

During the meeting, the Report of the Supervisory Committee was presented, followed by the presentation of the Financial Report and the budget execution as of March 31, 2025.

This was followed by a special presentation from Ms Jennifer Évora from CEPA and Mr Reynaldo Nolasco, Commercial Manager of Unión Portuaria del Pacífico, who shared strategic advances in the regional port area.

A key discussion point was COCATRAM’s participation in activities during the 75th session of the Technical Cooperation Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the progress of the project to update the 1991 Special Agreement of the Ministers of Transport. This represents a significant step towards the modernization of the Organization’s regulatory framework.

The meeting concluded with the definition of the venue and date of the next meeting of the Board of Directors, which will take place in Panama City on August 21 and 22, 2025, reiterating COCATRAM’s institutional commitment to maritime integration and cooperation in the region.
