The Central American Maritime Transport Commission (COCATRAM), in collaboration with the National Port Authority of Honduras (ENP), held the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Central American Isthmus Maritime and Port Statistics Network (REMARPOR) in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from June 3 to 5, 2026.
During the opening ceremony, Minister Yaudet Burbara, Manager of the ENP, delivered a welcome address to REMARPOR members, highlighting the strengthening of regional cooperation, the exchange of knowledge, and the generation of key information to boost the competitiveness of the Central American maritime-port system.

As part of the scheduled agenda, REMARPOR members conducted a technical visit to the headquarters of the National Port Authority (ENP), where they gained firsthand insight into key aspects of port management in Honduras. Subsequently, the delegation took a tour aboard a Boluda Towage tugboat, allowing them to observe maritime operations and port logistics coordination on-site.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC Honduras) terminal, where participants were able to gain a deeper understanding of the operational and technological processes that drive port efficiency.

During the working sessions, regional representatives addressed key issues for the sector’s development, such as strengthening the regional port statistics system (SIEMPCA), updating indicators, and improving the quality of information for decision-making.
Notable advances include new features on the platform, such as the addition of a registry for containers in transit, as well as collaborative efforts to standardize terminology and develop technical tools for more efficient management.
