1. LOCATION: On the NW Pacific coast of Nicaragua.

2. OVERVIEW: A multipurpose port comprise five berths. Port operates throughout 24 hours.

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Break bulk:  Length 370 m., Width 22.5 m., draft 11.0 m.

Containers:  Length 240 m., Width 39 m., draft 11.0 m.

Tankers:  30,000 DTW, Length 200 m., draft 11.0 m.

4. TRAFFIC: Handles break bulk, containers, solid and liquid bulk, Ro-ro and cruise ships.

5. PILOTAGE: Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels exceeding 200 g.t. or exceeding draft 2.13 m.

6. TUGS: Compulsory for berthing and unberthing. Tug joins vessel just after passing Buoy No. 7. Tug's lines are generally used; however, at times ship's lines are used. There is no charge for use of tug's lines. Two tugs 2,200 h.p. (47 tons BP and 60 tons BP).

7. BERTHS: Vessels are berthed on a first come first served basis.

11. WATER: Available and supplied from connections quayside, by gravity, at a rate of approximately 10 t.p.h.

12. FUEL: Corinto cannot supply bunkers. In emergencies small quantities of bunkers and/or diesel oil may be supplied by private firms.

13. CHANDLERY: Several shipchandlers operating in the port are able to supply vessels with necessary provisions.
