1. LOCATION: At the southern-most point of the Golfo de Campeche, on the west bank of the Rio Coatzacoalcos.
2. OVERVIEW: Industrial port and Mexico's largest port in volume terms. Handles primarily dry and liquid bulk cargoes. Comprises 1,943 m. of quayage at the Port Authority facility (Recinto Fiscal) in Coatzacoalcos, and a petrochemical complex in neighbouring Pajaritos.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Break bulk: LOA 200 m., draft 10.6 m.
Bulk: LOA 200 m., draft 9.7 m.
Tankers: LOA 250 m., draft 11.9 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Break bulk cargoes and containers.
5. PILOTAGE: Vessels up to LOA 220 m. may enter the port throughout 24 hours and greater than LOA 220 m. from 0600–1700 hrs.
6. TUGS: There are five tugs available operated by Compania Maritima Mexicana SA de CV: ``Atlantico'' 4,200 h.p., ``Boluda Crespo'' 4,200 h.p., ``Oaxaca'' 4,200 h.p., ``Rio Usumacinta'' 3,200 h.p. and ``Uxmal'' 2,250 h.p.
A tug is obligatory for mooring, unmooring or changing position in the port. One tug for vessels of 2,500 g.t. and two tugs for vessels larger than 4,000 g.t.
7. BERTHS: 1,943 m. of quay for ocean-going vessels at Port Authority facility (Coatzacoalcos), 144 m. for coastal vessels.

13. FUEL: Fuel and diesel oil are available at Recinto Fiscal by road tanker or barge and provided by Pemex.
