1. LOCATION: The Port of Big Creek is located 2.5km inland from the entrance of Big Creek at Latitude 16 30 10 and Longitude 88 24 00. The port´s location makes it a strategic alternative for transshipment through Guatemala.
2. OVERVIEW: The Port of Big Creek is a deep water sea port facility in the south of Belize. The second largest port in Belize. Vessels calling at Big Creek are mostly reefer or container vessels, loading bananas and frozen concentrated fruit juices, either as break bulk or in refrigerated containers (mostly 40 ft.)
3. MAXIMUM SIZE: Maximum draft of 6.4 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Handles mostly reefer and container vessels.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory, Pilot Station Position: LATITUDE 16° 26 Minutes 86 Seconds, LONGITUDE 88° 21 Minutes 65 Seconds.

7. BERTHS: It is possible to berth either portside to or starboard side to in winds up to 15 knots unaided subject to reasonable handling characteristics. The length of the berth is 305m with concrete aprons of 120m.
8. CRANES: The Port of Big Creek is fully equipped with a backup power supply to handle refrigerated containers, break bulk cargo, fresh produce, grain & dry containers. Four container handlers with a capacity of 40 tons each are available, 1 American Crane with a capacity of 35 tons, 7 Diesel Forklifts and 7 Electric Forklifts.
