1. LOCATION: On the north coast of the country, at the western shore of the Gulf of Cap Haitien, opposite the main city area.
2. OVERVIEW: Main port for the north coast of the country. Handles primarily containers, Ro-Ro, bulk, and general cargo. Most of the berths are protected from any swell. The bay is open to the N–E through to NE.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE: Depth 10.5 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Containers, bulk, break bulk and Ro-Ro.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for merchant vessels and should be ordered through the Harbor Master’s Office at least 48 hours prior to arrival. The message should also include the vessel’s particulars, requirements, and cargo details.
6. TUGS: One tug available.
