1. LOCATION: On the east coast of Mexico, straddling both shores of the River Panuco, on the NW side of the Gulf of Campeche, 13.7 n.m. south of Altamira.
2. OVERVIEW: One of Mexico's primary east coast ports, handling most types of cargo.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Draft 9.75 m. No restrictions for beam.
Bulk: Depth 9.75 m.
Passengers: Depth 9.75 m.
Tankers: Depth 9.75 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Containers, break bulk cargo, cruise ships.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for all foreign vessels and all Mexican vessels over 500 g.t., available throughout 24 hours. Vessels should provide at least 48 hours' notice of arrival to Agent who will then order Pilot. Pilots board in position 22° 16′ 15″ N, 097° 44′ 48″ W (approximately 1.5 n.m. ENE of breakwater entrance).
6. TUGS: Five tugs available (2×4,352 h.p., 2×4,200 h.p., 1×3,200 h.p.).
7. BERTHS:
There are 11 public berths with a total berthing length of 2,146 m., depth 9.14 m. at MYM berths and 9.45 m. at RFA berths.
