1. LOCATION: On the estuary of the Mahury River (Fleuve Mahury), approximately 8 km. SSE of Cayenne.
2. OVERVIEW: The main seaport of French Guiana (Guyane). Nearly all French Guiana's imports and exports pass through Degrad-des-Cannes. It also serves as the main base for the French Navy in the Caribbean.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Dry Cargo: LOA 175 m.
Bulk: LOA 160 m.
Tankers: LOA 120 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Handles containerized cargo, bulk and general cargo.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for vessels of LOA 45 m. or over 1,000 cu.m. Pilotage available throughout 24 hours. Vessel should send request for pilot at least 48 hours in advance, stating arrival draft.
