1. LOCATION: On the central coast of the country.

2. OVERVIEW: Port of Belize was established in 1978 and privatized in 2002. Multipurpose port handling break bulk cargo, containers, solid, liquid and oil bulks, ro-ro and cruise vessels.

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Channel:  Depth 8.1 m.

Break bulk:  Max. Draft 7.4 m.

Containers:  Max. Draft 7.4 m.

Passengers:  Max Draft 12m. at Cruise designated anchorage, alongside dock max draft 7.4m.

Ro-Ro:  Depth 3.0 m.

Bulk:  Max Draft 8.5m at sugar berth designated anchorage, alongside dock max draft 7.4m

Products:  LOA 148m., max draft 7.4 m.

4. TRAFFIC: Containers / dry bulk and break bulk / Passengers

5. PILOTAGE: According to Belize maritime laws, every vessel must have a local pilot to advise/assist with vessel navigation from the pilot station to the anchorage position or alongside dock.

6. TUGS:  Vessels with LOA less than 90m requires no tug.

                Vessels with LOA 90m to 122m requires one tug.

                Vessels with LOA greater than 122m requires two tugs.

Crane 150 Manitowoc Mobile Truck crane; 1-90 ton P&H 790 mobile crane; 1×49.5 ton P&H reach stacker; 1×45.5 ton Hyster Yardmaster reach stacker,  1-49 Ton Hyster Top Loader Container Handler, 1-49 ton Taylor Top Loader Container Handler,   container lifts; 6×5 tons Hyster forklifts; 6 × dock tractors; 12 -20 & 40 ft. trailers/bomb carts.

9. CRANES: 1×200 tons Linkbelt mobile ruck crane and 1×150 tons Manitowoc mobile truck cranes; 1×90 ton P&H 790 mobile crane

10. WASTE DISPOSAL: Agents arrange before arrival.

11. SLOPS DISPOSAL: Not available.

12. WATER: Limited supplies and expensive, especially if required at anchor.

13. FUEL: Light diesel oil 45/48 available subject to Government approval. Can be supplied at CBM with 8 in. diameter line (reducers to 4 in. available) or by barge. Also available by truck if vessel able to berth.

14. CHANDLERY: Not available.
