1.      1. LOCATION: On the east coast of Mexico, on the NW side of the Gulf of Campeche, 15 n.m. north of Tampico .

2. OVERVIEW: The port handles general, dry and liquid bulk, petrochemicals, LNG, containers, automobiles, oversize and project cargoes.

3.      3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Channel:  LOA 350 m. draft 12.19 m., no beam restrictions.

Bulk:  60,000 d.w.t., LOA 260 m., draft 12.19 m.

Containers:  120,000 d.w.t., LOA 350 m., draft 12.19 m.

Dry Cargo:  100,000 d.w.t., LOA 300 m., draft 12.19 m.

Gas:  Displacement 147,480 tonnes, LOA 335 m., beam 51.5 m., draft 12.19 m.

Tankers:  40,000 d.w.t., LOA 211 m., draft 11.81 m.

4.      4. TRAFFIC: Containers and break bulk cargoes, Ro-ro.

5.      5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory. Service provided by Pilots Association of Altamira and Tampico Ports. Pilots communicate with vessels on VHF Channel 14, 1 hour before arrival at the sea buoy position. If no reply, contact ``Altamira Traffic'' on VHF Channel 17 for instructions. Pilots board vessels 3 n.m. east of the breakwater in the sea buoy area.

6.      6. TUGS:  Four tugs available and permanently based at port. Tugs join vessel just off the berth or immediately on entering the port. Four tugs are required for LNG berthing/unberthing with one tug on stand-by whilst LNG carrier is alongside the TLA Berth.

8. CONTAINER FACILITIES:

Location:  SE side of the South Channel next to IPM.

Facilities:  Container and general cargo terminal. No LOA restrictions.

RTGs, top loaders for full containers, side loaders for empty containers and forklifts.

The terminal has a monitoring area for reefer containers and a 2,200 sq.m. covered area. Total area of the terminal is 17.0 ha., and is accredited in Quality certification ISO 9001:2000 and ISPS certification.

Private container service facilities also available.

9. CRANES: ATP Public Terminal has 2×78 tonne Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes, 1×40 tonne Panamax gantry crane, 2×100 tonne Gottwald mobile cranes.

10. WASTE DISPOSAL: Truck collection service is available in port and ordered through Agent, using authorized port services companies.

11. SLOPS DISPOSAL:  Truck collection service is available in port and ordered through Agent, using authorized port services companies.

12. WATER: Available by truck on written request from the Agent through port authorized suppliers.

13. FUEL: Available by truck or barge on written request from Agent through port authorized suppliers.

14. CHANDLERY: Available through Agent through port authorized suppliers.
