1. LOCATION: On the mid NW coast of Cuba.

2. OVERVIEW: One of two ports servicing the capital city, Havana is a growing destination for cruise ships. In conjunction with Mariel, which is being developed as the deepwater commercial port for the capital, Havana is developing its cruise potential. There is a modern highway and railway linking the two ports.

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Break bulk:  Draft 10.0 m.

Containers:  Draft 9.0 m.

Passenger:  Draft 9.0 m.

Ro-Ro:  Draft 8.6 m.

Bulk:  Draft 9.7 m.

Tankers:  LOA 230 m., draft 11.2 m.

 4. TRAFFIC: Handling containerized cargoes, break bulk, Ro-Ro, bulk, tankers and passengers ships.

5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory.

8. CRANES: Three rail mounted Panamax cranes (30, 40, 50 tonnes) running the length of the quay, 1×50 tonnes Panamax mobile crane at Terminal de Contenedores Habana. Floating Cranes available.

11. WATER: Available. Vessels can be supplied alongside and by barge at anchor in the bay. Six barges available capacities 80–400 cu.m.

12. FUEL: HFO supplied via 1×1,500 tonne capacity barge. IFO fuels supplied via three barges (capacity 500, 465, 80 tonnes). Diesel supplied via 1×350 tonne capacity barge.
