1. LOCATION: 16°00’00”N, 86°01’00”W. On N coast of Honduras, off Trujillo Bay, at the western end f the Laguna de Guaimorato.
2. OVERVIEW: The port is mainly used for export of bananas, timber and palm oil.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Break bulk: LOA 225 m. (approximately), draft 10.0 m.
Containers: LOA 225 m. (approximately), draft 10.0 m.
Tankers: LOA 225 m. (approximately), draft 10.0 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Port receives containerships, conventional cargo vessels and bulk carriers.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for vessels with 300 g.t. and over. Pilot boards approximately 0.5 n.m. south of the pier. No special requirement for boarding. Arrangements to be made via Agent.
6. TUGS: None available.
7. BERTHS: Concrete pier 225 m long, 38 m wide, with drafts in excess of 30.0 meters. Allows mooring of one large or two medium-sized vessels.
