1. LOCATION: 9°27’42”N, 82°19’26”W. In Almirante Bay, Bocas del Toro, on the NW end of the Atlantic coast of Panama.

2. OVERVIEW: Multimodal harbor. The cargo terminal is operated by Bocas Fruit Company LLC (Chiquita) and the principal cargo handled is banana for the international market. Domestic passenger Ro-Ro Terminal is operated by the national Port Authority (Panama Maritime Authority).

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Break bulk:  Draft 10.0 m.

Containers:  Draft 10.0 m.

4. TRAFFIC: Handles containerized, palletized and fractioned cargo for the US and European Union markets, mostly for EU.

5. PILOTAGE: Mandatory for approach to port inside 12-mile limit. Controlled by Panama Maritime Authority and provided by pilots from the town of Bocas del Toro. Agent must make arrangements through Port Administration.

6. TUGS:  One tug available. Call sign ``Bocas del Drago 1''.

8. CONTAINER FACILITIES:  Containerized and break bulk cargoes handled. Primarily exports of bananas. 3.5 ha. yard with capacity for 1,400 containers, top loaders, reach stackers, forklifts, cargo pallets, chassis, generators and spreaders available. 463 reefer plugs.

9. CRANES: Not available for ship cargo operations.

10. WASTE DISPOSAL: Service not available.

11. SLOPS DISPOSAL:  Service not available.

12. WATER: Available throughout the year. The pumping capacity is 2–3 t.p.h.

13. FUEL: Light diesel oil available.

14. CHANDLERY: Obtainable in the local market, but it is preferable for provisions to be obtained in Colon.
