1. LOCATION: At the NW head of the Yucatan Peninsula, 36 km. north of the city of Merida.
2. OVERVIEW: A multipurpose port, handles dry and wet cargoes and passenger vessels.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Channel: Depth 12.19 m., draft 9.75 m.
Containers: Draft 9.75 m.
Passengers: LOA 320 m., beam 48.0 m., draft 9.0 m.
Bulk: Draft 9.75 m.
Tankers: Draft 9.75 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Containers and break bulk cargoes.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory.
Pilot Station 1: For vessels with draft above 7.01 m. the pilot boards in position 21° 25.6′ N, 089° 41.4′ W.
Pilot Station 2: For vessels with draft up to 7.01 m. the pilot boards in position Lat. 21° 22′N, Long 089° 42′ W.
6. TUGS: Compulsory for vessels over 500 g.t. and vessels with dangerous cargo on board.
The port has three tugs: 1×50 tons; 1×35 tons; and 1×25 tons BP.
7. BERTHS: The berths are located at the end of a 6.5 km. causeway in position 21° 20.75′ N, 089° 40.7′ W.

Facilities: Two Panamax gantry cranes, 2 Gottwald mobile cranes, 5 reachstackers and total storage 180,000 sq.m.
9. CRANES: 1×22 ton, 1×35 ton, 1×45 ton and 2×90 ton cranes; 1×120 ton multipurpose crane.
10. WASTE DISPOSAL: Service available, to be arranged through Agent with 24 hours' notice.
11. SLOPS DISPOSAL: Service available, to be arranged through Agent with 24 hours' notice.
12. WATER: Safe drinking water available on piers through 2.5 in. pipes, or by road tanker. Must be requested through consignee or Agent with 24 hours' notice.
13. FUEL: Diesel supplied by road tanker, as well as grease and lube oil in drums. Must be requested by the consignee or Agent with 24 hours' notice.
14. CHANDLERY: Not available.
