1. LOCATION: On the south coast of the Gulf of Honduras.
2. OVERVIEW: Deep-water, open roadstead port. It is the main port of Honduras, handles dry and liquid bulk including LPG and chemicals, containers and break bulk cargoes.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Break bulk: Draft 10.5 m. (MLW).
Containers: Draft 10.5 m. (MLW).
Bulk: Draft 11.5 m. (MLW).
Tankers: Draft 12.0 m. (MLW).
4. TRAFFIC: Containers and break bulk.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for vessels over 300 g.t.
6. TUGS: One tug compulsory for berthing and unberthing vessels of 300–10,000 g.t., two tugs compulsory for berthing and unberthing vessels over 10,000 g.t. If vessel is equipped with a bow thruster, only one tug compulsory.

8. CRANES: 4 × Gottwald 100 ton mobile harbor cranes, 1 ship-to-shore crane (Muelle 5), 2 Super post-Panamax gantry cranes (Muelle 6)
9. WASTE DISPOSAL: Available.
10. SLOPS DISPOSAL: Private contractor available.
11. WATER: Available at Berths No. 3, 4 and 5. Pumping rate 25 tonnes/hr. Cost USD 8.00/tonne.
12. FUEL: Available from Chevron Texaco, Unopetrol, Puma and Esso subject to availability. Minimum 72 hours' notice (working day) required. Arrangements made through Agent. Delivery either by road tanker at berth or at berth 1A Chevron via pipeline.
