1. LOCATION: On the south side of St Croix, the largest of the US Virgin Islands, which lies 90 n.m. SE of San Juan.

2. OVERVIEW: Comprises public and private facilities in Limetree Bay and adjacent Krause Lagoon. Includes Limetree Bay Terminal (formerly Hovensa) and Port St Croix (formerly Port Alucroix).

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Containers:  Draft 30.0 ft.

Ro-Ro:  Draft 30.0 ft.

Bulk:  45,000 d.w.t., LOA 585 ft., draft 38 ft. (with fenders), freeboard 40 ft.

Tankers:  300,800 d.w.t., LOA 1,200 ft., draft 55 ft.

4. TRAFFIC: Handles dry and liquid bulk, containers and Ro-Ro cargo.

5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for entering, departing and shifting berth.

6. TUGS: Tug assistance in the channel, berthing and unberthing, is mandatory and is provided using 3×3,600 SHP twin screw diesel tugs and 2×7,200 SHP twin screw diesel tugs, which are stationed in the port. All tugs are equipped with firepumps, monitors and foam towers to assist in firefighting.

8. CRANES: The pier has a 30-ton gantry crane to facilitate the loading and unloading of containers.

9. WASTE DISPOSAL: Available.

10. SLOPS DISPOSAL: Dirty ballast/slops can be discharged.

11. WATER: Fresh water is scarce and expensive. Limited quantities of fresh water may be available provided at least 72 hours' notice of these requirements is given before the ship's arrival. 12. FUEL: Bunkers are available by prior arrangement. Advice concerning the quantities and type required should be given in the vessel's arrival message sent 72 hours before arrival.

13. CHANDLERY: Limited supplies of provisions and marine hardware are available on the island.
