1. LOCATION: Capital city of the state of Vargas, approximately 10 km. north of Caracas.

2. OVERVIEW: It is a natural port Multipurpose port.

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Dry Cargo:  Draft 9.85 m.

Containers:  Draft 9.85 m.

Bulk:  Draft 9.85 m.

4. TRAFFIC: Handles containers, general cargo, Ro-Ro and dry bulk cargoes. Is also a port of entry for several coal, crude and LNG terminals situated around Lake Maracaibo.

5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for all vessels inbound to ports in the Lago de Maracaibo and Bahia el Tablazo; pilotage provided from San Carlos.

6. TUGS: Vessels up to max. LOA 139 m. require one tug to assist with berthing operations. Vessels with LOA over 139 m. require two tugs, or three tugs at Berths No. 11 and 12.
