1. LOCATION: 09° 21.65′ N, 079° 53.06′ W. Coco Solo.

2. OVERVIEW: Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) is primarily a container transshipment facility servicing major line-haul carriers and many feeder services with connections throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Break bulk and Ro-Ro cargo also handled.

The facility is privately managed and operated. The National Port Authority is represented on-site and maintains vessel traffic control functions. Port has rail links.

3. MAXIMUM SIZE:

Break bulk:  Depth 12.0 m.

Containers:  Depth 16.5 m.

Passengers:  Depth 16.5 m.

Ro-Ro:  LOA 300 m., depth 14.0 m., draft 13.0 m. (MLW).

Tankers:  60,000 d.w.t., displacement 70,000 tons, LOA 260 m., beam 32.5 m., draft 12.5 m. (MLW).

4. TRAFFIC: Container transshipment, break bulk.

5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory; carried out by pilots of the Panama Canal Authority. Services of pilot outside breakwater are available on request.

6. TUGS:  Available to assist berthing. Contact Agent for arranging service.

8. CONTAINER FACILITIES: Total area of 520,000 sq.m. with storage capacity 66,100 TEU. There is a container repair yard 15,000 sq.m. with 1,300 sq.m. of undercover repair facility and a container freight station.

9. CRANES: The container berths are equipped with 21 post-panamax and super post-panamax quay cranes; over 2,800 reefer plugs and modern terminal management computer systems.

Equipment: 6 Kone and 18 ZMPC RTGs (6 wide and truck lane and 1 over 6 high), 29 Taylor 955 top-picks (5 high), 31 Taylor SP-157/8 (8 high) side-picks, 176 Ottawa tractors, 154 trailers, 44 forklifts (3–28 tons) and 1,700 reefer points.

10. WASTE DISPOSAL: Available by barge or road tanker, dependent on berth.

11. SLOPS DISPOSAL: Available by barge or road tanker, dependent on berth.

12. WATER: Available at Berth No. 4.

13. FUEL: Diesel available via pipeline and lube oil via drums at the quay.

14. CHANDLERY: Available.
