1. LOCATION: On the SE coast of Jamaica, at the foot of the Blue Mountains.
2. OVERVIEW: Multipurpose port, comprises facilities in the Newport West, Newport East, Rockfort and Harbor View areas of Kingston.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Break bulk: LOA 300 m., draft 12.7 m. (HW).
Containers: LOA 300 m., draft 15.5 m. (HW).
Passengers: LOA 300 m., draft 12.7 m. (HW).
Ro-Ro: LOA 300 m., draft 12.7 m. (HW).
Bulk: Draft 9.1 m. (HW).
Tankers: Depth 11.1 m. (HW), LOA 229 m.
4. TRAFFIC: Handles Ro-Ro, Lo-Lo, automobiles, containers, bulk and break bulk cargoes.
5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory. Pilotage provided by the Port Authority of Jamaica.
6. TUGS: 2×4,000 h.p. tugs available and 1×6,000 h.p. tug to arrive soon. Compulsory for berthing and unberthing. Tugs join incoming vessel near berth. In case of emergency tug joins vessel wherever requested by Master.
