1. LOCATION: At the southern tip of the Bahamas in Turks and Caicos group of islands. South Caicos Island is approximately 20 n.m. to the west of Grand Turk.
2. OVERVIEW: Grand Turk island is a port of entry to Turks and Caicos Islands. There is a small, deep-water port consisting of a Grand Turk Cruise Terminal, South Dock and Ro-Ro Dock. A facility on the SW corner of South Caicos Island handles cargoes for the island’s residents.
3. MAXIMUM SIZE:
Break bulk: LOA 79.2 m., depth 7.0 m. (MLW).
Passengers: No LOA restriction, depth 10.06 m. (MLW).
4. TRAFFIC: This port handles cruise ships, yachts and inter-island ferry services between Charlestown and Basseterre, St. Kitts.
5. PILOTAGE: Pilotage is not compulsory. Where Masters have concerns they should seek the services of local pilot and from persons knowledgeable about Turks and Caicos Islands waters. Preliminary arrangements for a pilot can be made through a local agent registered with the Port Authority.
6. TUGS: Available with notice.
