1. LOCATION: Caribbean coast of Columbia, 22 km. from the mouth of the River Magdalena, 100 km. NE of Cartagena.

2. OVERVIEW: River port and the country's fourth largest city. Facilities operated by the Port Authority (Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Barranquilla (SPRB) and a number of privately operated terminals and a Free Trade Zone.

4. TRAFFIC: Containerized cargo, break bulk and bulk cargoes, petrochemicals, general cargoes and projects.

5. PILOTAGE: Compulsory for all vessels over 200 g.t.

6. TUGS: Generally, no tugs required for river entrance. Tug assists berthing and turning vessels before sailing. 1×1,225 h.p. and 2×2,400 h.p. tugs available.
